2025 race update:
Welcome to the 2025 edition of the Badger Mountain Challenge! We are currently once again working towards obtaining all necessary permits.
Our aid stations will again be "hands-off".
We will still have our post-race party at the finish line!
As always, thank you for choosing our local, home-grown race. This race is 100% volunteer and is a true labor of love. Having you join us means a lot.

Welcome to the 2025 Badger Mountain Challenge, one of Southeastern Washington's only ultramarathons! The next Badger Mountain Challenge will be held on March 21-22, 2025.
Located in Richland, Washington, Badger Mountain is our favorite local mountain and it offers expansive views of the beautiful Columbia Basin.
Property development continues to reduce our natural spaces close to town, so the Badger Mountain Preserve was established in 2005 to ensure that this community has open spaces and magnificent views for outdoor recreation. The 14th annual BMC focuses on these few remaining open spaces that are close to our urban centers while we still have access to them.
The BMC is once again hosted by the Nomad Trail Runners of Eastern Washington.
The next Badger Mountain Challenge offers 5 distances; the popular 15k, 55k, 50-miles, our new 100-Kilometer, and the ultimate challenge: 100-miles. Our 15k and 50-mile races now also have a ruck option.

The Badger Mountain Challenge has a small-town feel but with all the support of a big race. Even if you're not competitive you can hike the course while enjoying the people, local ridges and open spaces.
Proceeds from the BMC will go to the following great organizations: Friends of Badger Mountain, Washington Trails Association (WTA), and Girls on the Run. The Badger Mountain Challenge is also offering a scholarship to any eligible high school or college student. Please visit the "Scholarship" tab above.
We need lots of volunteers to make this race a success, so please visit the volunteer tab or click on the volunteer link on Ultrasignup to fill out a form if you are interested in helping. All volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt and a free entrance to a BMC 15K race in the future (or a reduced entry fee into one of the ultra-distance events). The more you volunteer, the bigger your discount will be.
